We are happy to announce a new release of XAMPP for all platforms! This is a minor release that fixes the following issues in both XAMPP versions:
- I see what you say and agree it works. Overall I come to the conclusion that the advance of spam and other such things almost out-wiegh's the efforts of trying other things like simple forum communication though it sounds like it's in good hands. So I trust in that.
- The latest version available is XAMPP 1.8.3, which has been released a while ago, including: OpenSSL 1. XAMPP is an easy to install Apache distribution containing MariaDB, PHP, and Perl. Just download and start the installer.

1.8.3-0 version (PHP 5.5 based)
- Updated PHP to 5.5.1 version for Windows, OS X and Linux.
- Fix issue with RedHat-based Linux distros (i.e CentOS) in which the start script would fail to autodetect the distribution and start the servers.

Our goal is to keep releasing new versions periodically and maintaining the stacks up-to-date. Old versions are still archived in case you need them. Thanks to all users that posted issues in the forums. You can contribute to the Apache Friends project submitting your suggestions at https://community.apachefriends.org/f/
Enjoy!
Xampp Installers And Downloads For Apache
After looking for v1.8.2-6 under 'more download options' I downloaded the .zip and .7z version from sourceforge and installed both and everytime OpenSSL version 1.0.1h was installed. But it should have been version 1.0.1i. It looks like you have implemented the wrong older OpenSSL versions in those windows packages (didn't test other os versions though).

There is something wrong with the XAMPP v1.8.2-6 windows download packages!First, if you try downloading the latest windows version by clicking the huge download button on the main page, it starts downloading the old version v1.8.2-5. This should be fixed to download latest version.
